Triump of the Nerds

Triumph of the Nerds (1996)is an quite interesting film with some deep analyzes on how our times greatest technological invention, the computer, has developed into our society.
The computer has gone from being just a hobby for “nerds” to become a global necessity in the life of people all around the world. I found the fact that the whole process went so fast very interesting.
We have two persons; Bill Gates and Paul Allen to thank for all those practial divices that makes our everyday things so much more easy. They are interviewed and praised in the film for their contribution.
It’s fascinating to compare the technology today with the one just 15 years earlier. Huge steps has been taken since then. Every tech. tool has been smaller, but fits so much more information.
There is no end of the possibilites of what you can do, and the technical area will grow for many more years. Entrepreneurs (or “nerds” if you like) will keep on letting their creativity flow and hopefully see the potential in their products, just to make our lives so much better.

I agree that this is fascinating! We can all be really happy that we were borne during this new era. I don’t know what I would do without the technique of today. What would I do instead of facebook every day? Haha, how would I stay in touch with my friends in Australia? <3 computers.

I agree with you that it is fascinating to compare the technology of today with the one we had fifteen years ago. Extremely fascinating, in fact. So much has changed, in such a short time. You can just imagine how much will have happened to 2024, fifteen years from now. Perhaps we should take up this discussion again in fifteen years? :)

Of course we have a lot to thank the founders of Microsoft for, but I would definitely say that Steve Jobs and co-founder Wozniak have as much influence as any other “power nerd” on our lives today.
